Worn Out?

A few members edesigned.net team wanted to touch on the “worn style” or look that seems to be popular on various websites now. If you are browsing sites that comment on style, design and usability, you will find a mixed review about this technique. Some are tired of it and would like to see something new, considering it the ”new drop shadow craze.” Others see the style as a work of art when it is used as a controlled technique.

Now that we have so many artists on the web, we see many variations of creative websites. Many of the best web designers have print and advertising backgrounds, so maybe this is why we see the use of good fonts mixed with elements of faded text and 3D elements.

As artists we are always faced with creating for a current audience. Now that we have such a link between movies, video games and web sites, we will see more interfaces that try to appeal to each group, thus creating interactive art.

Just wanted to say good topic. I have seen a lot more of these sites around lately. I wonder if they will change to a new style soon. Like the soft gradients that are also popular.

Maybe you can post a topic on that. Or you can talk about other site designs that may spark a new trend.
